Water system conversion

has anyone replaced their onboard water containers for an external aquaroller with whale-type pump. Having been away for a long weekend in our triton 430 we got a bit fed up with emptying the cupboards to take out the water containers to refill them! Not sure what's involved in converting it to an external supply with heater or where it could be done so any info would be appreciated!

Another alternative is one on-board tank filled with a watering can from outside. We have done this since 2007. Simple rule is when we throw away a bucket of grey water we put a watering can full in to replace what has been used. The 30L tank will realistically hold about 2 or 3 days requirements.
I prefer the idea of the on-board as I do not have to carry a drum in the van or car, I believe I'm not down on storage as I cannot really use all available space as it is, water does not get warm in the summer or cold in the winter.
My new van has come with the on-board tank that I ordered, but also an external aqua-roll type fill that I did not. It has not for a moment crossed my mind to use it.
If you are handy it is possible to retro fit an o-board tank and electric hot water heater for about £600.

Interestng idea I saw a couple of weeks ago now in that one Eriba owner had removed the onboard 30L tank from the bug locker and replaced it with a 20L tank in the gas locker as the need was for only one gas bottle. It was a simple enough exercise to extend the original pump fittings etc through to the gas locker and along with being easy to fill also served to either reduce or add nose weight.

I had a 40l on board tank which I detested. It took up so much space. Got Jandi to convert to exterior Aquaroll and pump. Best thing I ever did. Only use this water for washing hands or washing up. Use fresh from site tap for drinking etc. I carry the Aquaroll in a bag in the car boot. Same for waste tank.

Us also. The aquaroll fits perfectly in the bathroom for transport.

I think this post highlights how different we all are. As my late father said "more than one way to skin a cat".

My 'German dealer supplied' 540 came with a 30 litre water tank fitted into the underbed storage on the washroom side of the van. I don't mind the storage loss in the slightest as it is always the bane of my every trip away to have to open the underbed storage as the duvalay has to be removed then the back-rest cushion then the seat cushion, plus the pillow plus any 'scatter cushions' the Boss has brought along, all to avoid over-stressing the hinges if said items are left in-suitu whilst trying to lift the compartment/bed base upwards.

What are you all doing with your water? I have 16 litre tank under the sink, lasts 2 - 3 days and as someone said, use a watering can just to top up if needed or easy to just unstrap it and carry it to the tap and film and put it back again.

Has anyone installed a 30 litre water tank in the front locker of a Troll? I can't source the Eriba tank that does the job although I have seen photos. Also what sort of pump is required and where best to run the supply pipes - particularly to the kitchen?
