Stand aside and engage your minds in this wonderful display of my exciting culinary art.
Tuna Salad al la Snowdon.
A bed of leaves of our lettuce, chopped. Then covered with grated Cheddar cheese. A layer of half a drained tin of cold Heinz Baked beans precedes the whole tin of tuna, thrashed together with half a chopped onion and a large spoonful of Mayonnaise.
Surround this with pieces of local grown beetroot, some discarded slices of yesterdays new potatoes, slices of cucumber (Morrisons) and pieces of our own radish.
Drizzle all with self made dressing, liberally season with black pepper and sea salt and serve with bread warmed though in the Remoska and lashings of margarine.
Accompany with a pint of cold water.

Couldn't agree more, old fruit.

I described M. L'ampshire's recipe to Mrs P last night and it put her right off her five-bird roast, so it did.

'Quenelle!', she said. 'How can he eat that?'

Cold baked beans? Bleurgh.

The only thing cold baked beans are any good for is putting in a pair of wellingtons for charity.

My mother used to give us cold baked beans with corned beef and I can remember quite liking that - sometimes in sansdwiches!

Super stuff Derek it's tasty and nutritious - all I can say for the cold baked bean detractors is that bean salads are delicious and very popular. Top grub!

Some people eh?

Cheers,
Steve.

PS Before anyone else tries it, let me get in with a classic old joke - also works with soup:

Bean salad??? I don't care what it's been... what is it now

Without music, life would be a mistake.

Wow! must try that Islay. I often used to have a mustard sandwich, using the standard English Colmans, which is fiery, long before all those foreign mustards were known.
