After reading about Amanda's scary experience, I thought it might be helpful to give you some hints as to what to do if you have a problem here.
If you're ill, you have to call the firemen. Yes, I know that it sounds daft but they're the paramedics.
Being British, you simply call 112 and you should get someone who can talk to you in English.
Otherwise, call 15 for ambulance, 17 for the police, and 18 for fire.
Doctors have surgeries in all towns and villages just like Britain. If you turn up, someone will see you. Expect to pay.
You can also go, as did Randa team, straight to the emergency service in the hospitals. After a visit to a hospital, you'll be expected to pay too.
Here, we pay a sort of national insurance directly from our salary, but everyone also has private health insurance which is expected. You should get all expenses repaid back in blighty.
Health care here is really good.
