Rainwater getting trapped under pop top

I have noticed that rain water is getting trapped under the pop top on my Triton. It does build up quite a quantity and I'm a bit bothered about it overflowing into the van at the back of the roof.
Possibly what is happening is that the water is getting in via the join in the seal which is in the middle at the back. Certainly that looks like the entry point going by the amount of crud on the roof underneath the top at that point.
The van is parked nose up to ensure rain all drains to the back of the van - the drive is also a slight slope. What I am trying first is leaving roof down but unclamped and with the tip if a nylon tie under the seal on that side just see if that helps water to drain.
The other thing that did occur to me is that actually it may drain better if the van was nose down - have to wait and see.

If its nose up enough any water will run out of the gap in the seal long before it gets to be a problem, if its a long way out of level side to side put some sort of board roughly the right thickness under the low side wheel.

Whatever you do don't forget to re-clamp the roof before towing.

After a bit of further fiddling and looking I realise that the water is getting in because the roof does not clamp down correctly at the middle of the back. There's a gap of about 1/8th" across about a foot of the width at the middle.
Obviously if the van was parked with the roof up then there would be water there anyway, so I have altered the jockey wheel so that the van is now nose down a bit. That should ensure water drains forwards and out through tiny gaps from tie wrap tips at lowest point.
It looks like the roof does not clamp evenly across the back as the seal is squeezed out a bit more on one side than the other but I guess that's just the nature of the beast.

It is not intended to be a seal it is there to stop the lower edge of the pop top rubbing on the roof while towing.

Agreed - my concern with this relates in part to problems raised here and on Facebook about water ingress around the roof. In my case the combination of parking angle and efficiency of the roof seal meant that enough water was building up in the area to result in the scissors being wet when the roof was raised and a goodly quantity of water fell out. A bit more and it would have been lapping at the rim of the roof opening!! This may have been what was causing folks to see water ingress during the recent and coming storms.
My hope is that by experimenting a bit I can get a better understanding of how to clear that water by adjusting the way the van is standing and by actively encouraging it to drain out where possible - 'tis all.

Nose up should let the water run off the rear of the van and out of the seal gap , if the seal gap is too small you can always cut another 1\2 inch or so off one end.

It was parked nose up - substantially. Gap at rear of roof where seal joins would have let water out if it had risen that high. If it had then it would have been overflowing roof rim. Water flows downhill from point of entry - said gap - and fills up roof space held in by seal join at side/corner.
Tipping further back would result in Preying Mantis Eriba, so tipping nose down better option as water will flow forward - thus avoiding possible overflow of rim and will come out above gutter drain holes - tomorrow will tell.

Your past topics suggest you have a brand new van from AL if your problems with water gathering on the roof are as bad as you say I would be checking the roof with a long strait edge along both sides and across in front of and behind the pop top if the roof is a long way out of flat or has some kind of dip in it
If so then a call to AL would be in order.
