Hello fellow Eriba folk. We (Manish and Alison) got our beloved Eriba Car last August. Been out on holiday init twice now and that trip we just got back from was memorable for some nice things but also bad.
On the way home we had a clutch cable go on the isle or Arran. Luckily I had a spair 2 in the back. Then just south of Penrith twang went the timing belt So she is now waiting for a new engine or an engine rebuild. Other than that we love it.
We wanted to make the Sheringham meet but I'm afraid we wont be there (in the Eriba anyway).

Any suggestions for suitable engines would be very much welcome.

So sorry to hear of your mishaps. Hope you get it fixed soon so you can continue the adventure

Sorry about your timing belt failure - I would suggest that a replacement engine, rather than a 'rebuild' is the best way to go - maybe from a low mileage accident vehicle using the same engine ( this covers a very wide range of vehicles like Fiat,Peugeot, Citroen, etc !

its the 530 we have. Needs to accommodate two adults, some booze and two little jack russells.

Im having a nice local chap come over to have a look and discuss options. Im thinking a turbo diesel if we can get one to fit without too much bother

Well nice local chap came around and we have opted for the engine rebuild route. Might even engineer in a turbo to help her along as she does find it hard going up hills. Should be back on the road by xmas id say
