Had a shock this morning when I found we only had £75 worth of Tesco vouchers so could only set £225 against Eurotunnel charge of £364 and had to stump up £139 to do the deal.

Either we are spending more than we think at Aldi and Lidl or Mr Tesco is getting very stingy with his rewards.

Must look into this Tesco lark. Spend money earn points more points = more vouchers exchange voucher for tickets is that how it works ? Must start to buy diesel from Tesco instead of ASDA methinks !

Yes, you need to register for a Tesco Clubcard. We have a Tesco credit /clubcard so all our purchases attract points.

In 2014 we had extensive alterations done to the house and I bought all the materials on the card, that's why I had so many points and was able to do two free journeys using the Tunnel. Originally it was four times the face value of the vouchers but that dropped to three times a couple of years ago.

They also can be used with DFDS ferries but when I checked this morning, there was no appreciable difference in the fares and as the Tunnel is so quick and convenient I decided to stick with them

Not speaking Welsh? I won't hold it against you, but seriously, the Dieppe Newhaven crossing especially with its 20% off if you book on the phone and are a pensioner is worth serious consideration.
