I have a C 402 Thetford toilet in my Eriba. I am at the stage of replacing the pump. When, with difficulty, I removed the pump it was not situated in a tube that looks to me as though that's where it should have been? Can anyone give me advice.

Thanks for that but the posting does not say if the pump should be feed down the tube or down the side of it...which is were I found it. Another interesting thing?!? I have emptied the flush tank using the plastic tube in the cassette cavity, however, the pipe/tube I am considering feeding the pump down IS FULL OF WATER. What's that all about?!

The filler pipe will twist so the spout faces downward and will empty.

Thanks for yours. I appreciate the plastic tube can be taken out of its 'holder', pointed to the ground which will empty the tank. I have done this and it would seem the tank is empty, however, the tube in the upper part of the toilet situated under the control panel stays full of water?!? and I am still not sure if the pump should be replaced down the tube or by the side of it - where it was when took it out. Grateful for advice

If its like mine (see link in post two) scroll down to picture six you can see the pipe (covered in crap)marked No 1 the pump attaches to the pipe and is then fed back into the tank via the switch pad hole (its a tight fit)

the water in the filler cap is a very small amount there is a trap in there that it flows over into the tank when filling.

It's the filler cap tube I was referring to.
To empty it, rotate the whole tube through 100°+ like this.....

Okay, I have done as you suggested and now the tube under the 'control panel' is empty of water. Now do I replace the pump down the tube that had the water in? Or simply feed it down into the cavity beside the tube - which is where it was located before I pulled it out?!!? Andrew

The pump you removed from the tank should have been attached to a plastic pipe, the new one needs to be attached to that pipe and be placed back in the position where the old one came from which means it must go back in through the same place as it came out.

Thanks for yours, but with respect you are not addressing my question, not to worry, I'll try Thetford Customer Service. If as you suggest I put the pump back in the same place I found it, I think it would incorrect, I was just trying to be sure of the correct procedure via he forum. Andrew

The question being where to put the pump back?

It must be reconnected to the pipe to pump the flush water in the toilet.

The topic that I steered you to is how I replaced mine and its worked fine ever since

the last but one picture shows the pipe re connected ready to re-insert the pump through the switch housing

Or am i trying to answer the wrong question?
