Alko axle issue

Hi everyone. Just had a great holiday with the kids and wife in our lovely 90's eriba familia in sunny St. Anne's. Caravan served us well, but as we were driving home I couldn't help but notice there was a slight lean to the cooker/fridge side. Caravan was lightly loaded down the axle and most of the luggage was in the car. Tyre pressure was also spot on either side. My question is could it be the axle that is causing the issue? And how do I check that this is the cause? It is only a slight lean, but enough for me to notice (inch of so). Also if it is axle any ideas of cost and what to do. We are West Yorkshire based. Thanks for any advice.

Axle!!!! If anything more likely to be a worn suspension strut. DIY job, easy and not expensive. That said, I would first check for lean on a flat surface and with empty van.

The suspension struts were only replaced two years ago. Got them from jandi.

Surprised that you haven't received any other opinions regarding this issue considering at the last count there have been 44 views of your post.

This is probably due to the fact that many of us have been away this weekend.

Anyway, I've searched the forum for this post and this thread. Brakes overheating and seizing

I don't know if it will help.

Hi, yes you are right. Suspension is interval in the axle. It is the rubber going through it that acts as suspension. I'm wondering if it is this that has degenerated at the fridge/ sink side. I have looked at can on a flatish surface and it seems to be 10-15 MM out.

that's a lot 10 - 15mm
first thoughts were payload mostly at that side, then
tyre inflation, tyre sizes being different on axle, wheel tightness, wheel bearings and then the axle worn

Tyres are only year old, same size, same pressure. No idea on bearings as I'm not sure how that works/would effect. Payload is fridge/stove/cupboard. I measured change in height and seems to be between 1-2cm. I'm guessing the worst!

WOW! Has anyone changed a axle ? Have you measured from under the axle tube to the floor at both sides ?

i would recommend having it looked at by a mobile service agent there is a section on the forum about finding one here

Caravan servicing and repairs, including mobile technicians.
