My al-ok is a 1300 I think ( on triton 420 gt) which has seen better days , the alko that is not the van
The al-ko is scruffy or what , can I change it one for one for a al-ko 2004 or 3004,
Any advantage in its operation or just cosmetic ?

Take care you lot

The alko 1300 has two friction pads to limit the van from swaying, the 3004 which is fitted to the newer vans has four pads and it reduces the van from dipping up and down as well as from swaying. The number indicates what the alko is rated for, i.e. the Al-KO 1300 is up to 1300kgs.

I had the AL-KO 1300 on my previous Familia and didn't have any issues with it..

I found the 1300 fitted to first Triton at 1000kg and a Troll at 1300kg fine, but both were always noisy despite regular cleaning of ball and pads.
The 3004 fitted to my new Triton at 1200kg is a more positive and quieter unit.
If you can fit a Winterhoff I would give it serious consideration. I found that fitted to my Familia a very nice unit, but possibly overkill.

Out hitch was a disaster. Stuck onto the car, wouldn't go on the car -too stressful for words so changed to a lovely new one and it's so much easier.
