That's a good deal Colin, most folks opted to pay more at Lakeland because they had a lifetime guarantee, however their website now shows them having only a three year guarantee..

With the money they are making second hand on e-bay I'm tempted to sell my old one and get a new one at this price.

Ive just seen the power consumption. Its very low. Do you all find that it cooks well? Does it get hot enough to get a good sear on a steak? Im tempted. I got a small induction job this year, but can't use it on the site here as it's too power greedy.

The Remoska is extremely versatile and can cook a very large selection of foods, however to sear a steak is asking a lot from a 400 watt cooker. Even the butane gas barbecues fail in this respect .

Our Remoska will roast a chicken to perfection in an hour and it does sausages beautifully too.

The Cadac Safari Chef is ideal if you want to sear food on a griddle.

Islay,
I thought the Remoska a gimmick until gifted one by my mother some years ago. I was wrong, very wrong.
I have also roasted a small chicken, cooked scones, bake a cake each summer when away for my birthday, roasted sausages, heated up the croissants etc. It will do most things very well. In particular it is excellent for jacket potatoes, cooking ready meals in foil containers [sorry but I have done this a couple of times] and reheating things without them drying out.
The only thing it will not do is get a really crispy roasted top to larger items, but we have had success with good crispy garlic bread.
I also have an excellent early model Dualit fan oven, 1400w I believe. I seldom use it now, only taking it to UK sites were amperage is high enough to cope with it.
You mention an induction hob. Many of us also use these for saving gas and cooking in the awning. These are also a very good idea and available for low cost. But as you say they can be power greedy. Some you can use though as the start up "temp" is set low and not high. This is why we bought a "Tefal IH201840 Everyday Portable Induction Hob" from John Lewis for £45 with 2yr guarantee. [my wife also works fro them, so we got it cheaper]. This has proved fine on 6 amp electrics as the star up level is 850w. https://www.johnlewis.com/tefal-ih201840...ion-hob/p592363
If you enjoy cooking and are prepared to carry the kit around then a Remoska and Induction hob will allow you to cook more or less anything you want inside or outside or the eriba. Add the Cadac to the equation and I cannot really think of anything [except a whole suckling pig] that would be outside your means.

You must remember though I am biased as cooking for me is part of the holiday whilst for others the opposite is true.

Do these things really only consume 1.8 amps? Other than decorative are there any advantages/disadvantages between the original see-through lid and the more recent version without? I
Here in Germany - from Alza - both versions (and coloured) are selling at a reasonable price and I'm struggling to come to a decision. https://www.alza.de/remoska/18854015.htm

Yes power consumption is that low. although I thought my original was 470w as opposed to the newer 400w. I believe the only thing that let down the original window version was condensation getting into the electrics, occasionally resulting in failure and a warranty replacement.
I have used ours for about 5 yrs in the van and some home use without problem. If I was to replace and buying new I would go for the ageless black, but be undecided on window or not. as It is useful as you can see what is happening.

The glass windowed ones definitely caused a condensation problem - causing trips to blow ! ( both at home and campsite hook ups) - have had at least 3 with this problem replaced under guarantee :) :) Now happy with the non window version ! (except that one of the new version ones the on /off switch fell to pieces - again exchanged under Lakeland guarantee fortunately :)

I think the glass window ones had a "cool spot" where the window is while the all metal lids give more even heating and better browning.

Amazing bits of kit!
