avatar-15df0ce4-1315.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)Nearly time to go. Five more days then we take the ferry to the mainland and make our way to Dover docks.
download.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte) Arrive Calais and continue slithering down through France at a comfortable pace, stopping frequently for refills of wine, cheese and other goodies.
]images.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte) Eventually we hope to arrive in the land of the warm sea and hot sun, orange groves, ect. Continue drinking wine to stop us drying up and making our skin go wrinkly.

Tom,
we are on the 05:50 DFDS from Dover to Calais on Saturday am. Which crossing do you have booked?

The first giraffe ever brought to france ended up stuffed in the museum of La Rochelle. I don't know if it's still there but might be worth a look. It was taken from its mother in Egypt and sailed to Marseilles from where it was walked and feted all the way to Paris. In 1824. It lived for 18 years in the zoo.
