inside been chewed

We've done so well...or so we thought. The new(ish) Labrador has made his mark and chewed the inside of our beloved Eriba
So, we are after a repair cover up solution.
He's marked the curved corner in between the seat and bathroom - we have a Troll.

Any ideas? Match the laminate? Use a contrast cover?

We are quite upset, he's not left alone in the caravan, this was early morning while we were trying to stay asleep! He got bored waiting for us to get up.

Presumably you mean one of these bits Jan, probably the small triangular shelf on the left?

You might have a job matching it. If it were me I'd rub it down and paint it to match the cubby hole trim (white or cream?)

Use dog repellent paint

JJ, please do not sand or use any abrasive on the area in question.
Unfortunately the bad news is you will not be able to get an invisible mend.
The slightly better news is you should be able to camouflage the area with coloured wax sticks sold for such repairs. Liberon make them.

The damage may not be deep enough for the wax stick to key in but they are quite effective if that is possible. After 20 years in the furniture industry a child's felt tip pen can work wonders. A damp used tea bag may also help.

More important thing is to avoid having to tell him off again whilst you are away. We breed Guide Dogs as well as puppy walking Assistance Dog; an old trick to deter repeated chewing of furniture is to lightly smear the area with a thin layer of Vick. (Do not get into the scratches as petroleum jelly and woodfiller will probably not mix).

my treadle had been eaten by a dog, I just applied shellac it darkened the chipboard down, and matched,

afraid the eriba is different, its like a thin veneer has been applied to the panel, perhaps could re veneer the panel, perhaps one of the main dealers could advise.
if it shows really bad but don't want to make worse, hang a small quilt over it,

I think I'd be tempted to cover it with fablon or thin carpet? Rubbing it down will remove the plastic veneer film, filling it will leave a colour mismatch (unless you have the luck of a lottery jackpot winner) it looks to deep for a touch up pen, sorry no answer just an alternative thought, best of luck

Some nuts are good for disguising, my wife used a walnut to disguise some chew marks our Springer made in our kitchen units. Take the nut not the shell and rub it over the marks and the oil in the nut does the job
