Water Ingress

Looks like our season has ended early this year. Had a 3 night break at Bridlington last weekend testing whether our 2 year old granddaughter would take to sleeping in the Eriba, needn't have worried on that score! However lots of rain over the weekend particularly on Saturday evening/night and what did we wake up to? the dreaded wet duvets! Water was trickling down the rear nearside corner and had soaked the duvets mattress topper and upholstery below it. Saw a little bubbling on the wall board and later discovered the same lower down at floor level first thought was window seal but as the water was trickling down the middle connecting strip it changed to possibly the outside middle strip but would that cause a trickle of water maybe something higher up the rear light or the awning/rain strip. Anyway contacted a local caravan repairer who, good on him, said they have never done an Eriba so declined and thought that someone with the knowledge of Eriba would be best. We have never had a problem with damp or water ingress so it looks like a long trip to AL to let them have a look.

Sometimes it will leak from the grab handles at the back, the constant pulling on them they can become lose and with age the mastic can become dry, water then tracks down the screw and into the van. Take the handles off and check if it is rusty and or damp this will identify the source, reseal them with correct non setting mastic.

When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!
