OK, well my inside plastic door panel is cracked all down one side and corner missing.
So taken the door off and removed the door panel
Started to fiberglass it up and it's looking good.
Just bought the ready mix tin.
Will sand fill and repaint the whole door in a cleaner grey rather than (nicotine) yellow.
Will post more as it goes 🤙
Ok had a go this weekend .
couldnt get it perfect but looks a lot better. after taking the door off followed by the door panel and outer alloy skin i found the steel door frame rotted on the middle and bottom bars,
Cut these out and had new bars welded in,.
Fiberglassed the plastic door panel ,filled and painted ... was meant to be grey!!! but some joker in the range swapped the lids of the spray cans over so now i have a silver door! ...looks ok for the minute but if it bugs me i'll respray it in light grey,, but anything looks better than nicotine yellow !!
Its not a hard job if anyone is thinking about it,
The problem all starts because water gets in from the top of the door lock on the outside and runs down causing damage.
If you take a look at the original door panel it has a plastic plug above the inside door handle , behind this is a hole to the back of the door lock ,
This needs a bolt instead to tighten the outer lock/handle to the alloy door skin. The plastic plug was'nt pulling the outer lock/handle tight enough.
so replaced with bolt and big washer ,
Hopefully problem solved
