Warm air vents

We don't attach any blame to AL as they spent so much time with us before, during and after the order, especially Cameron. Our simple logic was if there is a heater provided and warm air vents fitted they would somehow connect.
Playing the Devils Advocate here but I wouldn't dismiss attaching some if not all blame to Al at this juncture. Have you checked the purchase description documentation that came with the van i.e. does it specifically say 'blown warm air heating' or words to that effect? I'm no solicitor but in my view if the description is as such then without the necessary ducting then you haven't got warm blown air - vents or not.
I still find it a bit odd that vents have been provided but no piping to feed them (if that is in fact the case) because our Triton, which did NOT have blown warm air heating didn't come with any vents at all which one would expect. The Troll, however, with such heating , did come with the vents and of course the necessary ducting.
hi Deeps
I have checked the paperwork and there is no mention of it.
Stronger evidence comes on both the AL and Adventure Leisure Vehicles list of extras for the Eriba Touring where Warm Air Circulation/Vent Ducted Warm Air is listed as an optional extra costing £285/£290 respectively. As you say buyer beware!
However in retrospect given all the other "optional extras" we ended up purchasing, I'm not sure even if we had realised, that we would have bought it. As we have always ended up getting EHU on sites we visit we tend not to use gas except for occasional cooking. This is especially so given our experiences with condensation when we have used the gas heater in very cold weather. MikeT
Just as an aside, they're useful for circulating un-heated air around the van in warm weather........if you have them.....we have the vents but not the heater...should we swap?lol
Hi Islay a good point.
As ex-tenters the zip down ventilation in the pop top was a real bonus when we first used the Eriba in hot weather in Dorset last year. There was a breeze blowing through the vents in the early morning that was heavenly. We are all lucky to own Eribas! MikeT

It doesn't help that the price lists tend to use different descriptions for the facility, which unless you know, you might easily miss. On the current configurator it just says 'warm air circulation' without even an 'i' to click on for more detail. It costs £280 and weighs 3kg.
A fuller description is 'trunking to convey warm air around the van from the heater, complete with a multi-speed fan and thermostatic control'. Now £280 makes sense and you know what you're buying.
It's like the Therme boiler to give you hot running water. Only £250 if fitted during the build, but £800 to retro-fit.

The whole issue of optional extras when buying new is problematic if you haven't owned an Eriba before.
As I've said before on the Forum we paid a small fortune for the combined gas/electric hot water boiler and the gubbens that came with it thinking that it was absolutely vital and have used it once in nearly two years. We hummed and hahed about a two or three gas burner and have found that we don't cook inside the van much at all. At best we sometimes warm up a one pan thingy that we have made at home - like a spag bog.
Again we thought long and hard about getting a porch awning. In the end we did and have used it once - it's pegs caused as many problems for my hips as our small tent. However the motor mover was our best optional purchase and we use the outside plug socket quite a bit.Sorry waffling a bit here! MikeT
Too right! And I reckon many first time Eriba buyers will discover the same.
Especially the porch awning because I’ve always thought them to be the wrong sort of compromise as they nearly always have just about the same framing as a full awning.
The trunking for the blown air heating takes up valuable space and it seems to me to be overdone by going right round the van. Why have vents on both sides of the bed bases blowing into a very small space?
2 gas rings or 3???? You would probably struggle to get 3 pans on anyway.
We’ve always had the Truma Therme electric hot water system but I wouldn’t want the gas boiler combi thingy.

Mine has but was originally supplied by Lechlade. Have not really used them until recently as a mini oil filled rad usually keeps us warm. A word of warning however is that twice I have forgotten to switch fan off and have come to the van with flat battery
