Hi all,

Can anyone tell me where the warm air vents are on the troll 550 please (2007). I know there is one by the entrance door and one at the fixed bed end.. is there one in the front dinette anywhere and the washroom?

Cheers

you should have one in the washroom and one under the table both at floor level

I might perhaps be missing something here but aren't the warm air vents fed from the in-built fire so the question can be answered by taking a look at the rear of the fire and seeing where the ducting pipes are leading to?

The washroom vent may be hard to see as it can be tucked beneath the under sink cabinet.

It depends on whether they were specified at the initial order stage. So there are some with and some without. However they probably all have the necessary cutouts for the trunking and may even have the outlets.

Mine does a 2006 model but it was supplied by Lechlade who at the time was the only UK distributor and supplied to a british spec !

Our 540 GT has the air vents cut and in place but nothing attached to them. In my innocence when we first got the van I sat with my hand against a vent waiting in vain for warm air to arrive. When I dismantled things I could see nothing was there.

I did wonder if we wanted them piped up whether this would be a big job. Anyone got any idea? MikeT

The blower unit screws directly to the back of the fire and the trunking is then fed from it to the vents.
The cutouts for the trunking are already there in the structures under the beds etc but they may have been used to route water piping or electric cables so access might be limited.
The control for the blown air unit fits into a ready made cutout on the fire top and it’s control wiring plugs into it and the back of the blower unit. A separate thermostat and switch is located in a suitable place of your choosing. I think dealers charge well over £300 for it but the parts are available for a lot less.

I would think if you have the blower in the fire with control on top then you should have piping to the vents. Would not be surprised if your van, if purchased new slipped through the Hymer QA net .
If the van was a pre-owned purchase then previous owner(s) may have removed them for whatever reason.

HI Eribanut

We bought it new through AL.

Being lifelong tenters we had no experience of caravans and were very naive. The only caravans we had been in before purchase were friends all-singing and dancing big white boxes. It just didn't click that having the heater attached to the warm air vents would be an optional extra - we should have thought Audi and BMW, cars as our example not our Skoda Octavias.

We don't attach any blame to AL as they spent so much time with us before, during and after the order, especially Cameron. Our simple logic was if there is a heater provided and warm air vents fitted they would somehow connect. Should have paid more attention to E.M.Forster "Howards End" when at still at school!l!!!!!!!!!!! MikeT
