Hand pumped cold water

I have been thinking of changing my "kitchen" tap to a Whale V Mk6 hand pump in our 2007 Triton 430. It should be an easy swap as the current hole in the worktop should be the same size. I feel this would have a couple of advantages despite the concept of appearing to go back in time to the 1950s. It would save battery power when camping without mains electricity. It is simple to maintain with few working parts. I wouldn't have to pull the pump gubbins out each time I refilled the water container (there would only be a simple length of hose through the water container lid) plus there would be less joints/potential for leakage.
I would appreciate your thoughts or ideas.

Our Triton 430 has a water tank under the back seat. Is yours under the sink?

Our van has a fixed bed and a side kitchen. The area under the bed is accessed from exterior lockers, one on each sideof the van or by lifting the bed up. The 15 ltr removable water container is situated immediately below the sink.

Job done - I decided to replace the tap in the washroom and not the kitchen for now. It was a direct replacement so no cutting was required which makes it easier to refit the original tap if required. Here is what it looks like.
