I have to be careful what I say here, and don't mean to offend anyone, but as tent campers (big family tent and small hiking tents for weekend breaks), we always made a bee-line for campsites that were off the beaten track, in picturesque locations, allowed camp fires and were pitch black at night for star gazing (minimal ambient light). All pitches were on grass, the facilities were basic but good enough, and there were no EHUs, but some of the locations were breathtaking. Many of these sites would allow tents (apart from the huge ones) and camper vans, but they generally excluded caravans. Now, technically an Eriba is a caravan, but I prefer to think of them as more like a VW California (other brands are available), but with the benefit of having a normal car (rather than a van) to use for the odd trip off site.
Can anyone recommend 'interesting' campsites for weekend breaks that will bend the 'no caravans rule' for Eriba owners? One of our favourites in Burnham Deepdale, North Norfolk coast has already declined our request for May bank holiday. Our 'go to' used to be the Cool Camping books and website, but alas, these places seem to love little camper vans, but consider caravans to be the devil's work.
