hi just recently bought a what i think is a 1980 pan familia which needs a fair amount of work. i have already discovered i need a new door handle and brake drum which has cracked any ideas of where i can find replacements thanks carl

Hi Carl. Welcome to Eribafolk

Two people spring to mind.

1) David Smart from Blackpool. He's an Eribafolk facebook member and he always seems to have a fair number of spares for older vans. Are you a Fecebook member?
2) https://www.eribasar.de/ Don't let the fact that they are in Germany put you off. They speak English and have helped out a number of folk with older vans.

If you can give us the 6 digit number on the plate just to the side of the door, on the outside, we should be able to date your van for you.

Carl, your drums are more than likely Al-Ko 1637 - with taper bearings, like these:

Might be a good idea to replace the bearings aswell, and you'll definitely need new shoes which must be replaced as an axle set.

The drums, bearings and shoes are widely available.Here, for example.

this is the drum in question I�ve found these on the net https://www.westerntowing.co.uk/acatalog...-PCD-DR201.html and think they are correct. Was going to replace both drums bearings and pads and for good measure new tyres

If the drum shown on Western Towing's is the same then you'll have a Knott axle.

Your drum may have a casting number - see if it matches with any shown in this pdf to confirm you've identified the correct one.
