Any more news on the arrival date for your new van Blueyonder?? No, not heard anything yet Jenny, have you?

No news yet - EDA was supposed to be late March/April. Yes, we'll have to have a farewell party! This one hasn't travelled as far as the earlier Triton we had but I will miss it nonetheless. The 530 has better loading possibilities, I think, than the new 540 will have, like the shelves in the wardrobe and shorter (more compact) under seat lockers. I'm just thinking about ordering storage boxes to stop everything sliding about in the long lockers in the 540. And I hope the dog cage will still fit under the smaller dinette table. And as to where I store shoes, well??!! So I've just got to work out anew where everything will fit. I just hope the change will make things more manageable for himself.

If you get storage boxes, leave room at the top in one of the under bed lockers to put the big table away. It won't go under the made up bed in the middle and even if you use the singles, it will be in the way. If your awning is up it may be in there of course but it's blooming heavy to keep carting about. We kept all the bedding, towels and jumpers in the one on the wardrobe side and the table would just sit on top of all that, including for travelling because one of the transit strap thingys broke. I recall Tony fitted some brackets in his to properly secure it.

Having emptied our 420 now, even though we'll have a slightly bigger van, we are taking less stuff in future! Despite our very long trips, there were things in there that we've never used!

If you put the table under any seat be v careful that you ensure it can't move about and won't come into contact with anything hard.

Someone cut the end off our freestanding table to fit a clip as on the one leg table end. That meant that it was no longer properly secured in its cradle under the offside bench as it was 5ins or so shorter and it was able to 'jiggle' about when the van was mobile. It slid towards the offside wall and rubbed its edge against the inside of the locker door lock, which wore a jagged gouge in the table edge about an inch deep and five inches long. It looked absolutely terrible.

We put it in the underbed locker because the three little straps Eriba provide for storing it on the seat during transit are useless - one broke and, given the table's weight, we were worried what it could do if it came loose! Sat on top of soft bedding and the like in the locker with a pillow wedged on one end its been fine, although you're right, you wouldn't want it in there on top of breakables or able to move about. It has its uses that table, notably for outside, but I really won't miss it.
