Is this just condensation?

Well, here we are in the Troll, and have managed to keep pretty cosy so far, even during the night. However, the wallboards at the back of some of the overhead lockers are a wee bit damp. We were horrified, as one of the reasons for buying our Eriba was due to the sponge like quality of our last Eldiss white box! Should we get this looked at pronto by Adventure Leisure, or have we stuffed the lockers full meaning no warm air circulation, and caused condensation? There's no other evidence of dampness.

Have you been showering, cooking, boiling kettles, washing up in the van?

What sort of temperature have you had the inside of the van at?

What sort of weather has it been outside?

Are the air circulation holes in the floor uncovered?

Any sign of condensation on the bare metal strip that runs around the main roof edge?

What year Eriba are we talking about?

Hi - been boiling the kettle and cooking in the van. Weather overnight has been pretty chilly. Keeping the van cosy during the day, but heater only on at a low peep overnight. Air circulation holes are uncovered, and there has been condensation forming overnight on the metal strip, which we've wiped away in the morning. Any ideas? The van is a 2017 Troll 540.

That sounds OK, the atmosphere has been v damp recently and cooking will produce both heat and vapour. The internal surfaces of the van will have initially been at ambient external temperature and will take a while to absorb warmth from the heater and bring themselves up to the internal air warmth. If the surfaces are inside a closed cupboard with stuff inside blocking circulation it'll take even longer. Condensation tends to be transitory, it's leaks you have to worry about and on a newish Eriba that very rarely happens.

Have you been closing your Poptop? The canvas top also provides air circulation..

I would keep the poptop up when your inside it to cut down the condensation..

The Eriba manual has some advice regarding condensation

Condensation:
Ensure that there is a continuous exchange of air by providing frequent and efficient ventilation. This is the only method for ensuring that condensation and resulting mould is not formed during cool weather. During the colder season, a pleasant living climate is created if heating output, air distribution and ventilation are synchronised.
