What are the main differences between 2004 and 2006 Troll 540 models please??? Thanks in advance

Not a lot, is the easy answer. Two extra years wear another. In truth there could be more difference between them in the options added than between the standard spec vans.

Exterior wise the '04 door will have grilles and the '06 won't. They'll probably have different AlKo hitches and that's about it.

Inside the furniture doors will be panelled on the '04 and smooth skin on the '06. The '04 will have the white plastic washroom with blue plastic tap and the '06 will have the grey worktop washroom with chrome tap.

As said most of the rest are choices from the option list like alloy wheels, exterior water supply, boiler, upholstery fabric, standard or multi function lounge bed, 3 or 2 burner hob, extra mains sockets, etc, etc.

Not much difference other than a few cosmetics then. I prefer the lights on the older one. I think the front where you hitch up is slightly different as well looking at various pictures and there's some red trim as well as blue.

I forgot about the rear light and reg. plate mouldings changing, I think that was between '04 and '05.

As to the rear grab handles they had changed to the metal bar shown in the second pic by 2007 but it was a different design bar around 2005 to 2006, before that it was the two handles, identical to the front ones, as shown in the first pic.

overall I prefer the newer look, the front fairing is more sturdy and less prone to damage/aging.

Have a look at some pics of the washroom, it was a completely new design and I prefer the look, plus the sink unit is more sturdy, the only negative point for me was the move from manual flush to electric, as the pump at some stage will stop working and its a bugger to get to, to get it going again or to replace, we carry a spare one in the van, the manual pump one the older van was simple and one less thing to stop working. To me it was a bit like replacing my manual flush at home with an electric one, unnecessary

The '06 washroom looks better and is built of stronger materials but both suffer from the cupboard protruding into the space that a sitting person's right knee would normally go.

The post 2010 washroom did get rid of that issue but at the expense of losing the excellent bench toilet for a swivel version.

The post 2013 washroom is, without doubt, the best design and as it should always have been. No protrusions to make sitting uncomfortable, a bench toilet, lighting so you can see where you are peeing at night, rather than earlier versions where when you turn to face the loo, the area goes into shadow from your shoulders and trunk being in the way. The earlier design was obviously either by a women or a 5ft tall man.
