Help for a Newbie on European Hook Up?

Hello Eriba-Folk
Can anyone help me - this is probably a REALLY daft question - but I've only had my Eriba for a month and only went on my first 'adventure' this last weekend so it's all new to me.
I'm going to France and am told that the site has 2 pin hook up.

I have a 'small plug' lead that plugs into the 'smaller' of the two available UK socket options and also wonder, will I ever need a 'small to large' adapter or do UK sites have both sizes of these 3 pin options?

Before I buy something - can anyone confirm if this is the correct adapter for France?

(apologies if I'm not supposed to post links - as I say - new to this)

Thanks

Buttercup

The link you have shows the adaptor that you might need on the continent. We have been camping in France since 1999, with one summer in Italy. We have needed to use the adaptor only a handful of times, but we always carry it.

Spot on Buttercup.

As the two guys above have said, you may need to use it from time to time when camping in Europe but usually your Electric Hook Up Cable

will suffice. If you need the conversion lead then just plug it into your exisitng lead.

One thing, Because European pitches (emplacements) can be very large, you may need a longer lead or purchase another one to plug together with your exisiting one, to reach the Hook up post.

We carry a 10 metre one and a 25 metre one and have had to use both on more than one occassion.

Thank you all for your helpful replies. I will order the adapter (I checked with the site I am going to stay on and it is most definitely required). I will also measure my cable (it's very long - I think probably 20m but it is a good helpful tip to know about this - thanks Randa!
The cable you have (cleverly) pictured is just like the one I have (it came with the van) and... here's another NEWBIE 'thing'... I noticed at the site I visited at the weekend that there were 2 sizes of 3 pin socket. My cable fitted the smaller socket. Do sites always have 'both sizes' or would I ever require a small round 3 pin to large round 3 pin adapter... this is probably a really daft question but until last Saturday I had literally never been caravanning EVER! Thank you for your patience!

I'm probably showing my ignorance and will no doubt get shouted down but I have never seen different sizes of 3 pin hook up. The only difference we have ever found was once in Luxembourg when we needed the continental adaptor. Only time we have ever used it.

Like Julie I have only seen one size 3 pin blue socket, In truth our first 'ignorant' trips caused no problems, site operators were only too ready to help with adaptors, leads etc., if you 'fess up to not knowing what to do.

Roger isn't exaggerating when he says you may need long cables. I'd get another 20m sometimes you have to snake about all over the place.

I carry the standard 25m in the UK, but take a 45m cable drum for when abroad.

We had to use the adapter last year at one site although we were offered one if we needed it

Enjoy
