On Board water tank, level?
On Board water tank, level?
in Improving your pride and joy and how to fix things Wed Apr 11, 2018 12:10 amby Duncan Myttion (deleted)

Hi this in my first question here so bear with me.
I have an on board water tank in my Troll 535. It’s very difficult to know what the water level is. I’m considering adding a water level indicator. Probably a clear plastic tube on the outside of the bed frame ( in the recess between the end of the bed and the wardrobe) has anyone attempted to install a water level indicator before?
Suggestions welcome
Thanks

Duncan,
I am on my third Eriba with a large external fill tank. Two factory fit and one self fit. I have never worried about a water level indicator.
When I arrive on site I fill up the tank with a watering can until it goes glug and overfills onto my foot. I then run the taps on hot and cold to prime the system and fill the hot water heater. Next I top up again until my foot becomes wet again if i have not moved it out of the way in time..
My routine is then when my waste bucket is full I put another watering can or so of water in the tank as needed. This is a daily job. Last day or so on site I do not fill up the tank and find when we leave we have little to drain down.

Thanks Colin.
I have "super-fill" pump fitted that allows me to fill the on board tank from my aqua roll by activating a switch inside. This prevents me from seeing if the on board tank is overflowing outside. I have only filled the tank up near the top, afraid of over filling. If it just overflows out of the filling point I could just listen out for the trickle on the floor.
My original idea was to fit I sight tube similar to the one that shows the toilet flush water level.
thanks for your input
Duncan

Probably more than you need, but it'd be quite swish.
