13 Pin plug, except its not...!

Just had this back from the dealer in Holland, it's on the 554 that we are collecting on Friday, looks like a hybrid between a 7 N & a 13 pin.
Has anyone come across one before or know of an adapter?
If I can't get the dealer to change it I'll take a new plug with me & do it myself or use an adaptor if I can get one as a short term fix (if such a thing exists).

That looks like the socket that was on a Ford Ranger pick up that I had to hire to bring my WWB back home in December. The hire company said they had an adaptor but it turned out not to be an adaptor to connect a 13 pin caravan to. So I had to call in at a Halfords on the way to collect the van and luckily they had one adaptor in stock. It was about £17.50 IIRC. I was annoyed as I doubt I'll ever need it again. If you were nearer I'd lend it to you.

Thanks for the offer Andy, it threw me at first, but panic over.
I have just found an adapter that I'd forgotten I bought some time ago (13 pin plug to 7 N socket) for my mates boat trailer which I never used in the end.
The internal moulding is scalloped around the 7 pins so It looks as if the 6 extra thin pins will slide down the side. At least I'll have the basic functions. I'll still see if the dealer will change it but take a new plug with me anyway, we're spending week over there so I can change it at my leisure.

my old Eriba Puck was a Dutch import had one of those 13 pin sockets, It was prone for for slipping out of sync whilst driving so I had to use a bit of tape to keep it in position. It was is a Dutch version called Multicon, it looks like a normal 7 pin but has 6 flat bars around the circumference making it a 13 pin and it is compatible with the UK 7 pin socket to work the basics.
When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!

Found this on the Caravan club site earlier, it's from their Technical Information Sheet:- https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/media/1022...r-wiring-mo.pdf
"At least two other 13-pin systems exist, mainly in Holland, and markets closely associated with caravan manufacturers from that region.
Both ‘Multicon’ (also known as ‘Feder’) and ‘Multicon WeST’ (or just ‘WeST’) give the option of compatibility with a standard 12N connector, while spacing the supplementary circuits around the edge of the connector.
These systems do not conform to an international standard (although Multicon WeST meets a Dutch national standard), and patent limitations prevent them being readily produced by other manufacturers.
The Club is not aware of any towcars sold in the UK market being fitted with either of these connectors. We occasionally get reports of imported caravans using them (most commonly Eriba Pucks, it seems).
Owners of such caravans will either need to use an adapter lead, or have their caravan or towcar connector replaced with a compatible one.
Our advice would be to replace the caravan connector with an ISO 11446 13- pin plug, if this gives compatibility with your towcar. If your towcar has two 7-pin sockets, then replacement of the single connector lead and Multicon plug with two 7-core connector leads and 12N/12S plugs is neatest."

Len - to back up what Poptop said, when I picked my Troll up from Holland, it had such a plug. It fitted quite happily into the 7 pin socket on my car which was enough to get me home. But the extra pins are not used so circuitry like the fridge and reversing lights etc are not live.
So get rid of it yes, but it's not imperative to do anything on day 1..

Hi Hugh,
Many many thanks for the charger, we trust you had a good weekend in "La La" land :-))
One slight problem with your theory is that the Yeti is 13 pin but, as I said to Andy, I've found my adapter so problem solved, in fact I have one of each as my towcar lead was was 13 pin & the M/home was a 7 pin N.
Good to know the other pins aren't live though, thanks for that. Not too worried about the fridge as we will be on EHU & I don't think I will be attempting much reversing, well I hope not.
Anything said about the drone? I noticed on the way out that there was a notice explicitly saying "NO DRONES". I'm not surprised.
I'm not against anyone having a bit of fun with one but I think it was 'TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE' to be flying something that dangerous, so low & in such a confined & crowded space.
It doesn't matter how good or clever you think you are, things can quickly get out of hand.
Tragically, a young lad lost his sight recently after being hit across the eyes by the unprotected propellors of one.
I think they should be banned from club meets regardless of where they're held or the site rules.

A friend of ours in our village had to call in the police because a neighbour opposite wouldn't stop flying his drone around her house and garden. Very intrusive things in an unobtrusive way, if you see what I mean. The cops gave him a good ticking off and so far he's behaving himself.
