Sink Tap
Ours leaked as soon as we used it for the 1st time this season. Difficult to see exactly where the leak was, but madam is not pleased. Thnking of buying anew one rather than fiddle about and get my son or nephew to repair. It was fitted by AL as part of a service in 2011, so mayb it's had it's day.

It'll probably be frost damage Derek, it doesn't take much water left inside a tap to crack the cartridge when it turns to ice.

Might just be the spout that has cracked (like Mine). Was able to change just the spout piece which is held in place with a small grub screw. Much, much easier than changing the whole tap which on mine would have been a major pain in the behind.
Not sure which year of van or style of tap you have but worth a look to see what actually needs changing, just the spout or the whole tap ?
I think they all have a cartridge inside these days, whether cold or hot ends cold and the tap body is like a shroud over the cartridge.

Having made a trip to local big caravan suppliers, I found only one model in there which caters for only cold water like ours. It was sensibly priced but thought I would investigate further. I had a good luck at it and think solved the problem. The spout part seemed a bit loose and came easily out of the lower swivel section, when I fiddled with it. There is a black ring seal in there. I merely pushed the spout part firmly in and tested it several time, with water and manouvred the spout up and down and round, turning water on and off. No leaks! Just a big push. Showed to madam, seemed satisfied and we'll try it next on site.

Not only a talented artist but a skilled engineer to boot, eh Derek?
It must be down to your Darlington steam railway heritage.

Just in case it's a temporary respite Derek, I purchased an almost new cold only tap from our local Eriba sales dabbler guy when my '01 tap split. He'd a whole box of them where he'd removed them whilst fitting hot water for customers. IIRC I got it for £15, which was a lot less than a new one. Maybe AL have a similar box out the back.

It's odd that they're website is still running but I don't think it's been edited for several years and I don't think they're selling much, if anything anymore.

Andy.....Have gave Leisurevehicles a email.......the tap on our 99 420 failed on our last trip to Franceshire, the internal switch failed to"off".
Were these the folk who had a box of spare taps?
Mike down deepest Dorset.
Those are the people. They ran the business from a bungalow in Alsager, the garden was full of Eriba's and KIPs but they sort of went quiet 4 or 5 years ago. I remember that at one time the bungalow was up for sale. As I say, I'm surprised the website is still running.

Well the taps are available on Amazon for £20ish so its not so hard. I wont bother with the link its 6ft long.
Getting the old tap out was not easy.....Ive a couple of stitch's left in my knee so I cant kneel down so had to lie and wriggle on the floor to get under the sink.....what a laugh I could have put that on Youtube! Our old collie seized the moment to climb in for a cuddle........
Ah well all is good in Eriba world.
Mike.
