At over a hundred quid for a jockey wheel I don't think so.
I fitted one of these to my Triton 420

I had one of those Clasohlson wheels, it was great on my Puck but when I put it on my Familia it ripped its self to bits. I put it down to the motor mover and the large height with the rubber tyre. The Alko wheel hasn't the same kind of rubber depth which I'm hopping will not have the same effect.

sounds like just the ticket , does the tube fit the clamp ok?
Fits perfectly, Poptop,......I really can't see the objections raised,..other than price,...but factor in the wide wheel, security features, suspension, noseweight gauge, good looks and the price of a standard wheel, £93 wasn't terribiy expensive, IMHO.

Nah, Easy mate,....Only need to do it once with the same towcar and van.
!,...Find out Max towball weight for vehicle,.........Value=Skg
2,..Align jockey wheel to face rear and lower to ground.
3,..Measure centre of van wheel to centre of towball receptor space on hitch,......Value=L1 cm
4,..Measure centre of van wheel to point of contact of jockey wheel on floor,........Value=L2 cm
Calculation is: Multiply SxL1,...and then divide the answer by L2....The answer will be your max noseweight in kgs.
Write it in permanent marker somewhere on the frame and I have drawn a red line on the gauge itself.
Five minutes, requires Tape measure, calculator and marker pen.

Your max noseweight is determined by the towing vehicle manufacturer surely? But what's with all this calibrating stuff anyway - is it really necessary as there's non of this with the standard nosewheel and let's face it - a wheel is a wheel at the end of the day.

Normally the calculation is from the axle centre to the coupling socket centre (of the A frame) ................so all quoted weights use that measurement
When you weigh from anywhere else other than the coupling socket centre the leverage is different so the result is wrong unless you compensate for the different distance

Agreed,..but this wheel incorporates the gauge and the weight on the jockey wheel will be less than on the towball, therefore if your max noseweight on your vehicle is !00kg,..and you load your Alko gauge on the jockey wheel to 100kg, you could conceivably have a noseweight of 110kg on the towball.
Therefore the 2 measurements and a simple calculation gives you the max reading on the noseweight gauge, which equals your vehicle's max towball weight.

To complicated for me thats why i stick with what Eriba deemed the item to do the job, don't have a problem with mine on gravel But then again i canif necessary lift the front of our Troll, and i've seen people use a piece of carpet to stop it, if indeed your jockey wheel digs in. I always make sure mine is lowered below the lugs

Noseweight explained
http://www.caravanguard.co.uk
The only thing it seems not to mention is Minimum noseweight ...........................I'm sure I read somewhere that it must not be less than 25Kg and must never be negative.
