Fiamma or Omnistore?
Hey everyone, the wedding went very well and the rain held off. I am now back in circulation. Once again thank you for all of the photos, advice and ingenuity - much appreciated. I have found a local dealer "Johns Cross Caravan and Camping" who are an accredited Fiamma supplier and fitter. However, they have never fitted to an Eriba before. I am going to take my Triton to them and they can have a look. It will also give me the chance for a close up look at a Caravanstore and they can have input as to how to best accommodate it. I haven't ruled out the Omnistore but it seems sensible to start with the local Fiamma specialist.
I am also going to do some research on the Isabella Shadow which keeps cropping up in posts.
Thanks again.

If considering an Isabella Shadow this might still be for sale but you need to measure your awning rail for fit

Dear Colin
We have just bought a Fiamma 310 caravanstore for our Eriba Troll 550 GT 2004 Touring. We have erected it on the other side as the door would not have the clearance it needs. You mention a rail and glue. Could you pm me so that I could telephone you from France and discuss how you solved the problem please?

We are getting an Isabella Shadow for our 530, as we think the omnistore is too heavy and bulky and the fiamma bag, too near the top of the door. 😊 The Shadow is really lightweight and packs away to virtually nothing.
Don't forget your third pole from Wilkinsons.

I have done an internet search and I cannot find Wilkinsons. Are they the same as Wilkos?
I have also found this at Homebase for £3.30, but not seen one in the flesh. https://www.homebase.co.uk/morgan-round-...st-lock_p391512

Also, in the rack right next to them you'll get one of these :- https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-rotary...m-30m/p/1285040 which gives you a cool 30 metres of drying space for a tenner instead of the little caravan ones that only give you about 15 metres for 30 quid.
Coupled with one of these :- https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amtech-U0200-Ga...r/dp/B0055Y9CDW and prehaps a few guy lines attached to a cable tie around the lower pole for if the ground is too soft to hold the anchor firm, you'll get this :-

Very pleased with our Shadow. Takes 2 mins to take down if you are worried about leaving it up in strong winds. Just leave the pegs and rope pegged in so they are ready when you put it back up - which also only takes 2 mins.

After posing the original question, I have now bought a Caravanstore 280 and am very pleased. I have devised a method using 2 spoons to keep it clear of the door when not in use. I am also going to use some velcro strips to keep the bag above the door when in use. Just want to getaway now to use it on a proper pitch!

Would you be good enough to show us a picture of the caravanstore supported by 2 spoons? What size are they and how does the scheme work please?
We will be going to Corsica in September and would appreciate if you could show how this works before we go. Many thanks
Hi Beryl, my Caravanstore tale has a sad ending. Our first trip with it took us to a festival and we pulled it out and set it up as soon as we got there. Unfortunately, we got distracted before we pegged it down and a sudden gust of wind whipped by. This flipped the Caravanstore up and over our roof shearing both legs off and ripping the canopy. One of the legs hit a lady standing behind bruising her shoulder. I judged the Caravanstore to be beyond repair and have disposed of it. Fortunately, the very understanding lady fared better.
If you do buy one, always make sure you peg it down/secure it immediately. Like may awnings, it only takes one gust of wind to turn it into a sail and a potentially lethal weapon.
The spoons. Please have a look at a picture inserted by Eribanut on page 2 of this thread (I think). I followed his example as I had an issue with the Caravanstore obstructing the door when in situ but not pulled out. I moved two mounting brackets already fitted in the awning rail, one to either side of the door. An ordinairy tea spoon was then put in each that held the Caravanstore above the door. Simple but effective! It wouldn't have to be a spoon.
There can also be an issue with the Caravanstore bag hanging down when the canopy is extended. I solved this by putting some Velcro strips inside the bag which can then be held in place without hanging down.
I should explain that we have a 2013 Triton 430 and the awning rail is situated just above the door. There is a picture earlier in the thread. The issues I refer to may not apply to other models of Eriba.
