SAS Heavy duty leg locks

I have just been on the SAS Website looking at the heavy duty leg locks, as something else that would slow potential thieves down and perhaps get them to look at a different van.

On the SAS site it says "these steadies will not fit legs with a covering shroud". The back steadies would be OK but on our 540 the front steadies are got at through some plastic trim. Does anyone know if this Eriba trim prevents the locks from fitting?

Also what do people who have already bought these type of steady lock think of them? Would appreciate any views positive or negative. MikeT

I have a pair of Milenco rear leg locks that cover the winder and stop it being rotated via mole-grips on the thead.

Angle grinder and 20 seconds should see them off no trouble - but when added to other deterrent measures then they may make a difference.

Cheers rambling robin. Having spent a bit more time looking at alternatives to the SAS I have decided that the Milenco ones you have look to be a better bet, covering not just the steadies end bolt. Still a bit undecided though MikeT

I'm wracking my brain trying to remember the last time I heard of an Eriba Touring being stolen. It was certainly a long time ago.

Presumably the police are looking for a colour blind imbecile in connection with the theft

Having just spent the better part of yesterday being steam-driven on the Nene Valley Railway, and being a person who often tows his retro Puck behind a Morris Minor Post-Office-Engineering van (BS356 Golden Yellow), I would just like to say to steamdrivenandy that there's nowt wrong with yellow!!!!

Do hope the stolen Puck finds its way home. Its bright colour may help!

I didn't say there was 'owt wrong wit' yeller, but that the thief/thieves must've been moronic to steal a bright yellow caravan that stands out like a sore banana skin in a sea of white, or they were colour blind and didn't realise its stand-out qualities. Like your Minor, presumably the colour was chosen not to act as camouflage.

What a terrible shame. Looking at it you could see why it might be attractive to a thief who might not know about Eribas as it really stands out. Lets hope she gets it back in one piece. MikeT
