Could you be more precise in the problem, I can't work out what "caravan slipping down jockey wheel" means

The caravan is slipping down the vertical handle of the jockey wheel and landing on... its nose.

The thread on the jockey wheel clamp may be worn and jumps or loosens. Drop the corner steadies to take the weight, undo the jockey wheel clamp fully and refit with a few washers so you are tightening it up on a fresh/different bit of the thread.

Sounds as if you have to much play in the clamp and you should tighten it a bit more. Surly though if you put the front legs down it won't slip down any more.

Thanks Tomored, but its hard to push the van into positions with the corner steadies down lol.
Yann is looking for a new clamp in case ours is worn and he's going to put some sort of super tape round the jockey wheel post to provide a hit more resistance. I'm worried he'll do himself a mischief lifting the van up.

Don't forget to try packing it with washers first. If this works then it will prove this was the fault. If not then you will not have bought a new handle in error.

Is your jockey wheel original? If not, the diameter of the down tube may be slightly smaller and thus the clamp does not get a full grip.
Anyway, if the clamp is fully tightened and still slipping then I agree with eribaMotters about putting a couple of washers behind the clamping handle. I will have to do that with mine soon as the clamping handle is just about to foul the A frame as it tightens up and won't be able to tighten any more.............then I might get some slippage ;)

Image on left shows clamp handle about to hit A frame.
Belay comment on original jockey wheel, you can see from image on right that there is plenty of leeway to clamp on to a smaller diameter tube.

Had to snap these pics quickly, it's pouring down

On eBay (search for Alko jockey wheel clamp) there are handles of different lengths. A longer handle will not foul the plastic shroud.
