Hi,
Any recommendations for cleaning the exterior of a brand new silver GT?
Decent products you trust? Cleaning and caring for the exterior.
Not looking for the cheapest option (though any tip is much appreciated), more looking for the ‘right’ option. Having just spent a small fortune, I want to look after the Troll and if it means slightly more pricey product, I’m more than happy if it helps.

On my previous smooth white over silver I treated them just as the car as a starting point.
A good hose down followed by car shampoo and re-hose down. Chamois leather or microfibre cloth dry and then a polishing [Autoglym] of the front end to stop those flies sticking like glue. Any marks cleaned off with window cleaner or white spirit and a light waxing of these areas. Meths good for removing any marks on rubber work. You can put a light spray of silicon on a rag and wipe over the door and window rubbers but I have never bothered. Do NOT be tempted to oil the step hinges. If corner steady threads are looking really muddy I wipe off the dirty grease and give a wipe with fresh. My logic is the mud can act as a grinding paste. Check what polish you use to see if it is OK for the plastic windows. Some glass polishes are not. At start and end of season as above but all of van waxed and a hose down underneath where where.

Not that you should need to do it with your new van but I've just polished the scuffs and scratches, some quite nasty, out of the windows of our new to us 2015 Triton by following the instruction on this you tube video.

The G3 cutting compund (brilliant stuff) - Absoutely amazing results with a little elbow grease, all my windows which were really rather scuffed and scratched have all come up like new!
The Farecla G3 Cutting paste was a revelation (found it best to spray a little water onto the window while using this cutting compund on a microfibre cloth).

Followed up with this lovely Cherry glaze:

Finally finished off with some car wax I had in the shed - turtle wax something or other.
Used these Microfibre cloths for the job:

Cheers for that video, I'm sold on the Farecla G3 Paste for windows.
I've been using Autoglym Shampoo Conditioner to wash my Eriba - a 2002 Puck L - & Autoglym Super Resin Polish for the roof. Although the polish is great for the GRP, I have noticed it is too abrasive for the dimpled paintwork & lifts the white & silver of the body. For my next big clean I shall be using the Autoglym polish for the GRP & Meguiars Deep Crystal Carnauba Car Wax for the dimpled body.

I'm sure you know that polish is different to a wax, you use polish to get the shine and the wax to seal the shine in, polish is therefore an abrasive cutting agent and will depending on the grade of cutting compound within the polish remove your paint! Either by over exorbitant use or just being heavy handed, as I say I'm sure you know
Likes to wax and have a smooth finish! 😎

I hose the van down first then use use Aldi caravan cleaner, it is hosed down again then followed by Bobby Dazzler in a garden pump spray, Simple and effective..
Black streaks are removed with neat Aldi caravan cleaner..
Try not to get any cleaning detergents on the poptop canvas as it will strip the waterproofing. I usually wash the van first with the top down. I then pop the top and carefully wash the inner edge avoiding contact with the canvas.
When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!
