Financial Conundrum

I'm at that time in life where financially I'm retired and comfortable.
At the weekend I popped down to the local caravan shop to buy some gear for our next touring trip.
I spent ten minutes or more debating with myself which toilet chemicals to buy. The choices were numerous.
There was so many special offers,...different makes...buy in pairs...buy in bulk etc.
In the end the best buy from a cost point of view would have been enough toilet chemical to last me until my birthday card from the Queen and way beyond!
However I decided to go for the most costly at under £10 for a pair of bottles that for storage will fit neatly in the cassette housing.
For me this was something of a departure from my usual practice of going for the most economical product.
As I was departing the grounds of the caravan premises I once again started to review my decision and felt uneasy at my rashness.....that was until I drove past one of the many new caravans on display and saw the cost of a 'special offer' of only £34,995.
How much
I need to get a life
Cheers Ian

Ian,
I have always been noted as being "careful" with my money. [with the exception of buying Eribas]. As the years have gone by and I'm know 56 I have started to have some disposable income. This combined with seeing friends sadly depart at an age that is not fair, my outlook on spending has changed. I still like a bargain, but I know have a different approach to buying. If I need something I buy it. If I want something and can afford the best I buy it. If not I do not settle for second bet, I just wait for it to come along at a lower price.
I still bulk buy certain items, wine springs to mind for some reason.

When we first got the Eriba, I bought two bottles each of Thetford toilet chemicals simply to have the correct sized bottles to fit in the recesses under the cassette. Once emptied, I've refilled them with Aldi concentrated chemicals.
Much cheaper and just as good.

The 'EribaCar' has the toilet fed from the main fresh water tank by the fresh water pump. So no need for pink additives and just one cassette tank chemical to carry.
