Have you checked the rear brake light fitting? This is potential leak source and water from here can track along and down to apparently unconnected areas.
Is there damp inside?

I had to replace mine in October 2013 (pre the creation of the Eribafolk forum) so anything I posted regarding the job (and I'm pretty sure I did write it up) would have been 'in another place' to which I am no longer allowed access.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind!

But I do recall that the light was a standard Hella high-level brake light fitted to a number of cars. So far as I can remember, I sourced one from a car parts dealer advertising on eBay and made a substantial saving on the Hymer price which was frankly extortionate. Only buy parts from a Hymer dealer as a very last resort if you don't want to be well and truly ripped off.

You will also need the correct non-setting white mastic to re-seal the light fitting when it has been replaced.

Perhaps someone with access to 'the other place' might be able to retrieve the details? I think the red plastic lens on mine was cracked.

No. Remove two screws and then carefully cut through the sealant with a scalpel or Stanley knife and pull it away from the roof.

The mastic I used to reseal it was Sikaflex but I can't recall which number product. Can anyone advise?

When you get the light off your caravan there should be a part number moulded into the unit. The Hella catalogue is (here) see section 'Auxiliary stop lights'. If you can then find to what vehicles your particular unit was fitted, you may then be able to find an alternative supplier on eBay.

I've a feeling I used Sikaflex 512 on the recommendation (possibly) of Crow who seemed to know what he was talking about (not that you don't, John - he hastened to add.)
