I bought a new Canon Pixma MG4250 printer in December and it was fine on every task, the 3 that it is supposed to do, Suddenly on Tuesday the paper jammed several times and on removing it, some of the flimsy black plastic guide thingies in the back came out of place and wouldn't go back. I took it back to PCWorld that day and they gave me instant replacement.
Since then, it would not print some address labels and after a long talk to their help line it seemed I needed Word and not OpenOffice. I searched to find the Word pacakage and bit the bullet and forked out £70 for it. Then I couldn't get it to work so a long call to MS helpline resulted in their bloke taking control and getting it working and a loud exhultation came out when I finally managed to print the labels. He also installed IE as Firefox is not as good for MS products apparently
This morning I wanted to scan some photos, bear in mind all these things worked perfectly on the other machine, which is exactly the same, on the same connection, wireless and unchanged position, next to the router as this new one. It just wouldn't do it, so I got onto Canon again and they are baffled too, so will call me back when they have investigated.
