He wants me to bin them as I unearthed them in the loft the other day and he doesn't want them.

Mostly Mike Oldfield, Pink Floyd and I think one of Samantha Fox's.

Will take them to Oxfam music store in Southampton tomorrow, much better than the tip.

Don't be too hasty, ring around vinyl record specialists some of the discs could be worth a few bob.

Yes but they have to be in perfect immaculate condition with pristine sleeves, as I found when I tried to offload my huge collection of jazz and classicals to a specialist store.

Who on earth has those old discs and sleeves without a scratch, tear or bend on them?

We used ours daily and swapped them from day one. I would save up and buy a new jazz LP once a month on a Saturday and pay the princely sum of around 17/6d if I remember. It was about when the first chinese restaurant opened in Darlington and we'd go and lash out on sausage, egg and chips as a treat, not that foreign stuff.

When we moved in here five years ago there was somebody's LP collection up in the loft in three big LP cases. Mainly late '70's and early '80's stuff from just before the arrival of CDs. They're still up there if anybody wants them.

Can't be bothered, it's his problem and it will take me time.
