Joe Sanderson posted this pic of his new Eriba and I was taken by the light under the Thule Pull Out Shade..
It would appear that it's a factory fitted LED that gives powerful lighting.

yip sure does…when we put up the Bologna awning it diffuses through the fabric to create quite a palletable ambiance…..

We have this on our 535 with its factory fitted Thule awning, and it is a bit over the top! We wont be switching it on and will put up our fairy lights instead! Go ahead and turn it on if you want to be attacked by a kazillion mosquitos on the continent (or in the UK seriously tick off your neighbours). Whether we put the Unico awning up or wind out the Thule, the standard outside light is fine, so really no need for this set of lights, better suited to a WWB in my opinion.

I have to agree with the learned member above. I cannot recall when I last used the outside light on any of our Eriba for a significant period of time due to them attracting insects. This is especially the case when the awning is up and you may most want or need to use it.

I must admit it does look neat though,

Why would it be better suited to a WWB? I can only assume you are having a go at WWB owners?
No, WWB owners would still attract the mosquitos but because their canopy would start much higher up and come down at a steeper angle, surrounding pitch users wouldn't see the actual light, so it wouldn't be quite so invasive. We have the canopy almost straight out (I am tall) and the actual light is visible around the van. LED is a very harsh light. The standard Eriba outside light is bright, and this one is like 10 times the length.
Each to their own but I think its over the top.

You could always replace the CBE standard switch with a 12V dimmer switch...

It has to have dimmable LED bulbs - I've no idea if it does, and even if it does, they don't always work, can flicker/flash or just go off. I must confess, we haven't even looked at it to see if it has an option to dim it, I might have a look but don't hold your breath!

It could even be simpler to run some translucent tape over the strip to defuse it a bit more
According to Thule its only up to 300 lumens around 30W and warm white circa 2700K so surprised it's that bright. Maybe Eriba are fitting a higher spec one.
