Another niggling problem solved. The kitchen cabinet style hinges on my Troll toilet door really aren't up to the job and either come loose or break due to the weak construction (see picture). I have now replaced them with brass cranked flush hinges similar to but stronger than those on the overhead lockers. To get the required strength for the door, the larger size means they are not a perfect fit but as you can see from the picture they look quite neat once the existing holes have been capped and filled.
Finally I added a turnbuckle to stop the door opening in transit.
Required to complete the job are:
4 x hinges https://www.ironmongeryonline.com/cranke...s-electro-brass
4 x 25mm cover caps Werbung: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SOLID-WOOD-Oa...497.m4902.l9144
24 x 16mm x 3.5mm chipboard screws
Filler dependent on wood colour. I used Ronseal medium
Liquid wax for cover caps.

Presumably the Turnbuckle could be attached to the inside face of the door - assuming the lug were removed, and hence only visible when in the loo?

Possibly (you would need to check you can get your hand in when the pop top is down when it's sometimes still necessary to get in the toilet compartment) but I also put one on the wardrobe to keep that shut and clearly that has to go on the outside. We don't notice them - they are a cream colour - it doesn't in our mind look odd and allows a quick visual check before we set off that everything is secure. Both have been there for 2 seasons and prevented either door opening but despite this the toilet hinges still broke as they are so flimsy. I even replaced one but the screws came loose and it broke again. The door is just too heavy for the lightweight hinge construction.
