This is really interesting to look at. It looks like an Eriba that we know and love but also doesn't.

You are right in that to me it also looks cheap and a bit nasty. Would like to see one close up in the flesh though. MikeT

It's got that horrible thick pillar between the front windows, which destroys the exterior frontal aesthetic. Notice the dealer pics don't show an exterior front view.

By chance, today I saw this fibreglass 'van on UTube - a (poor) video by the US dealer/agent

However, the overhead lockers have full length metal hinges...... A huge improvement over the feeble hinges in our 2017 540 GT....... see recent post on poor hinges to interior cabinets
lots of responses including a photo of "proper" (double jointed?) hinges

Our 'van is going to ALV at Tebay next month (water test and minor improvements) -- any advice on best type of new hinges for loo door & overhead lockers?
All suggestions welcome.

Hi... the thread on (poor) Quality Issues in recent Eriba Touring 'vans was started by eribaMotters on 26/5/18; the photo of the superior hinges (cast articulated !) was posted by Pepe Le Pew on 1/6/18

So, are these articulated hinges available ?
and
which is the better retro fit option? full length or articulated?

"Little Jon" at Tebay is a magician but great if I can give them positive suggestions to solve this problem.

I have to admit that I really like the inside. In my opinion it's such a shame that they've ballsed up the outside proportions by using a strange window spacing at the front and such a small window at the rear. Presumably, it's something to do with the structural integrity of the glass fibre? They don't say if it has a metal skeleton.

Not wishing to sound too pedantic about it but it's more a 555 than a 550. Also, it doesn't have a wardrobe

Yes, that's half the problem isn't it? The awning rail is not only essential for constructing a fixed awning, but a line around the van at that point breaks up and defines where the roof finishes and the sides start.

Also, if they couldn't fit more appropriately sized windows then some shadow graphics around the front and rear windows would have been the answer to making the exisiting windows look as though they fit the space better.
