I see they now fit reading lights and those storage 'bag' things.
The lights were necessary but the other things.......nah!

I do like the roofline but thats been done for a while now we talked about a new one but we have decided to stick with what we have To buy a new one would almost be just showing off for us and we are not like that.

Please don't get upset at my "showing off" comment that applies to us only

Those bags are a 'Hymer' thing, they've been fitting them to caravans and motorhomes in one guise or another for at least the last decade. It's really quite a surprise that it's taken them so long to get them into Tourings. Aren't they part of an option package or something? I'm with you Tony, they're not my cup of tea.

We had the leatherette corner storage whatsits in our 2008 Triton. They were quite useful for nighttime glasses, phones remotes etc. The new ones look as if they are poorly sited and will be in the way.

Ours is the Triton 420 GT in silver, to go with our silver T5. I have to say that the reading lights might get moved, as I cracked my head on one of them whilst viewing. The chest of drawers between the beds might also get left behind, as a useful but impractical accessory.... having to clear space to move that every night will be a pain.

Hopefully will have some pics up of 'team silver' next weekend after we pick it up. Not sure if it will be a he or a she yet. The T5 is a she (Valerie), so don't want any hanky panky

Why would you want to move the central cabinet at night? It's very handy for stuff if you're using the single beds and if making up as a double the bed is still around 5ft wide with the cabinet in place, probably bigger than any other bed, even at home. It's sad they no longer provide the pull-out top because with that in place you didn't really need a table in the van at all. Certainly heaving the central cabinet about is a recipe for a hernia and risks damaging it. I'm certain you'll find it works fine in situ.

You're right about not moving the cabinet, leave it there and make the bed up around it.
In our last Eriba, aTriton 420, on our first couple of trips the cabinet came off and was found on the floor between the beds! Luckily no damage was done but I had to screw it down to prevent it happening.

Yep we leave ours in place all the time to, just make bed up around it, very useful for telly, side light, bits and bobs

What is the Hymer bag thing Andy, is it an optional extra or a fixture in the van?

I like to pop my top when I go on holiday

Well, I'll reserve judgement on the cabinet but we sleep in a superking at home and I am 6 feet 2. The thing that sold me the 420 was the length of the bed, but I can't imagine us sleeping with a cabinet between our heads - although I can see an advantage in it taking the edge off the old man's snoring!

If you sleep single with your head at the cabinet end you'll find that your head is above the cabinet when you use two pillows. We always slept the other way around for preference. If you make up a double then sleep across the van as the bed inc. Cabinet will be almost 6ft 6ins square.

In Triton and Trolls we have always slept with our feet at the cabinet end. It just seemed logical to have the furniture as a back rest when sitting up and the view through the back window.
