With our Triton 420 on the drive there is hardly any room between the house walls to get a ladder in each side to help fit the cover making it a struggle so have bit the bullet and separated my cover into 5 separate panels and intend to fit awning bead to the side panels with some additional waterproof material around the edges secured with velco and probably a few buckles. The separated panels also fold up much smaller than the complete bag, which I hope will make drying it out prior to storage a lot easier.
I have only had to make 2 cuts along the roof/side panel joins, the rest lined up with seams which I have unpicked (took about a day to do this).
To make it easier to work out where to split the cover I fitted it as best I could and ran chalk round the gutter, ensuring prior to cutting that the roof panel lines were at least symmetrical. so just waiting for the extra material to turn up then will have a go at fitting. Watch this space.

What a coincidence. I just looked on the German Eriba Facebook and this guy is doing the same thing although his cover looks to be manufacturer supplied.
If he posts more photos then I'll add them to this thread.

]That appears to be the cover in the Eriba accessories catalogue.
Here goes with the first picture. Front panel with the awning strip attached. This looks a little short at the front but this is how it was with the full cover fitted. I did tug at the front but just tore the cover a little where the buckle is attached. Seems to be a weak spot so have repaired that whilst I am at it.

Hi Roger, how do you stop it rotating the image when opening in a new tab? (other than tilting you head over to one side)
I have found that the Chrome enhanced image viewer extension does this (once installed type Q to rotate anticlockwise and E for clockwise).
It works but there must be an easier way.

That is probably it. I will use my camera next time instead of the phone and see what happens.

Progress still held up as waiting for the additional material to make up the new edges, but having fun sewing the awning strip to the panels. Only broken 3 machine needles so far. Plenty of expletives to delete here. I am definitely not an expert when it comes to sewing but with the cost of upholstery on boats and now our Eriba I am happy to give it a go.
Just lining up the side panel and the existing door opening is a good 4" too far to the rear so will have the opportunity to fix this now.

Thats the plan. Once I have the sides fitted it should be just a case of sewing the new material trim round the edge with some velcro to stick to the top edge of the side panels.
Just finished off the edge trim on the front right side.

Finally got this job finished off.
I decided that it was easier to fit if I split the front panel down the middle.

To get the right fit for the roof panel I made up the edging strips and fixed these to the velcro strips at the top of the side panels, then sandwiched the top panel edges between the folded edging strips, and pinned it all round in place before taking it off and sewing round the edge twice.

The opening for the side door is now in the right place.

Here I added a piece of webbing across the bottom of the door aperture, to stop the sides springing apart due to the elastic around the front.
I have also cut out around the wheel arches so I can move the van around without having to take the cover off. These are loosely hooked in place with rollcage hooks, just enough to avoid getting wrapped up in the wheel when moving the van around.

I found the back a little tight so added an additional edge piece to each side. I have just stuck these on with velcro rather than stitching to give a bit of flexibility when fitting.

Hopefully the new edges will increase the durability of the cover.
