Better get used to dark mornings

I see our Euro-dictatorship is determined to force the UK into adopting Summer Time as standard - should be fun at this time of year - still practically dark at 9am - Idiots!
Of course we'll have to follow otherwise Ireland will be split North South on time zone - or East West across the Irish Sea depending on........... aaaaarghh

You'd think so wouldn't you.
However - Europe goes to single Summer Time Zone
Southern Ireland is part of Europe
So, do you get 2 time zones on one island with a borderless North/South split???
Can you imagine the chaos?
The fact that people north of around Newcastle will still be in darkness at 9:30 or even 10 am is of course of no interest to those in lower latitudes........

When I retired I realised that there is only one 8 o'clock in each day, the one on the evening.

I must be doing this retirement stuff all wrong. I used to be at work for 8am (an hours drive away), but now lie in until about 7.20.

I taught in secondary schools for 35 years, the last one for 33 2/3rds. I realised it was time to retire when I was getting up at 5.15 and in work for 6.30. A typical day meant leaving at 4.30 after having a couple of 15 minute breaks, no lunch time and taking an hours work home. Add to that 1/2 a days work over the weekend and I'd ha enough. I was constantly exhausted.
Now retired, at 56yrs old I get up about 8.00 but still do10 hrs a day 7 days a week on a retirement refurb of a bungalow. The thing is although I'm tired I feel good.

Doing shift work for 21 years I never saw daylight during the winter especially during nightshift.
As for finding a paper round my 92 yr old neighbour has the monopoly on 3 of the local rounds..!
