Protec towing Jacket - clear SNADS fasteners

Hi,

We ordered a towing jacket at eh recent NEC show. Protect sent us the jacket but instead of clear fasteners they sent white ones - which aren't great for a silver Eriba.

They have said they don't use clear fasteners even though their salesman showed me clear.

Any thoughts from towing jacket owners?

All I would say is get on the phone and say is get on the phone and demand the clear ones or they can pay to collect the jacket and give you a full refund. The goods are not what you purchased.

Just à thought......you only use it when you're towing so who will see it? Or am I missing something?

The fasteners are self adhesive and remain stuck to the van all of the time. If you have a white van they do not look out of place, but white vans are dimpled, have a thinner surface and so do not stick well. On a silver van they do not look very attractive, as seen in the photo on the silver running light surround.

I bought clear studs for mine. I got the smaller 25mm pads but the seller also does the larger 40mm ones. I've yet to try them out as the van is in storage until the end of the month. Here is the link -

Hope that helps!

We have a silver van and the white studs. Actually after a while we just stopped noticing them! (And I'm usually pretty fussy about having things 'just right').

I suspect that’s what will happen for us too.

I’ve ordered some clear ones from eBay. I’m interested in seeing what turns up and will make a choice.

The clear ones came and looked good, so we used them. They don’t stand out as much as the white ones and we don’t notice them.
