Martin Scheele's Citroen Ami Super engined 2CV and Eribelle.

Spec pinched from an Ami Super Website
Ami Super
Based on the Ami 8, the Ami Super was probably the ultimate Q car - the recipe is very simple:- take one of the slowest cars on the road - albeit a car with exemplary handling and roadholding, rip out its two cylinder 602cm3 engine and replace it with an engine with double the number of cylinders and nearly double the amount of power.
The engine was the air cooled, horizontally opposed flat four 1,015 cm3 unit from the GS .
The Ami Super was launched in January 1973 and also made use of the GS gearbox and front brakes. This necessitated a floor mounted gearchange rather than the traditional "push-me, pull-you" A series shift. Suspension was also unique to this model, lacking as it did the front to rear interconnection found on other 2CV derivatives.
Production of the Ami Super ceased in late 1976 after a production run of some 42 000 berlines, breaks and entreprises.

I think this would frighten me to death to drive.........................as a teenager I was once nearly killed in a crash in my friend's Triumph Herald Vitesse (?) which had too much power and didn't like lake district corners in the wet. We hopefully live & learn.
Although we then did go down to Newquay on holiday that summer in a Capri GT XLR 3 litre (?) (his dad owned a large garage at the time) and came back crash free
Fond memories...........................

When I passed my driving test in the summer of ‘76 (the ever so slightly warm one) my brother in law lent me his 3 litre Capri for my first solo drive. Nearly frightened myself to death, went on to buy a Ford Anglia, much more sensible 😁

Hi Julie
I can fully understand that as for the time they were frighteningly powerful & fast - but they did look gorgeous, and it turned lots of heads at Newquay.
This was especially so in comparison to the two mates who went with us who were in a dull blue old Milk Marketing Board Mini Van.......
