Our first Eriba

Hi to all you Eriba folk. We have just purchased a 320GT Familia 1994 model - in great order throughout - been very well looked after and we are looking forward to our first try-out soon.
I'm sure I shall have many "newbie" questions - the first is coming up:

How is the swing-out step normally secured? Ours seems sound but would not stay in the "closed" position. I resorted to putting a couple of nuts/bolts through existing holes in the frame - this seems to have done the trick, but I could not fathom what should normally hold it in the closed position!

Otherwise most things seem very much as expected - I caravanned for about 15 years from the lat 80's - so much of most of the "systems" are familiar to me. In those days it was a 6 berth (shhh) Swift.

Thanks for your patience - we look forward to being active member of your Forum
.......

Welcome to the family.
The step on your van should have a big spring, about 16mm diameter on each side bracket. These should hold it up when you push it back.

Thanks Eribee.

Any chance of measuring your spring ( closed length and outside diameter is probably enough) and I will try to hunt them down on the 'Bay - I presume there should be two springs in my step?
