Hi
Any site recommendations for an area 25km around Limoges? We use ACSI and need to preferably be East of Limoges....

Hi, Can't help with the site but if you get a chance, a visit to Oradour sur Glane is recommended,near to Limoge Airport.

Bryan......it needs a warning! It's a small town that has been preserved as during the war, the germans went in and shot the whole population...new born baby included. Only, I think, 30 people managed to escape. It's not for the faint hearted but very moving.

We stayed at ACSI Bonnac la Côte in June 2012 which has to be one of the best kept sites we have ever visited. I asked the chap sitting outside the office if he was 'le gardien' much to his amusement as not only did he own the site it was in the grounds of his château.

This site is convenient for Oradour sur Glâne, which is why we stayed there, but I won't post any pictures as I don't want to spoil the experience for you.

Campers have access to the grounds and lake but not to the château itself as it is a private residence.

We looked at that one, however the reviews, especially on trip advisor were not that good!
So we gave it a miss!

We know this is to the west of Limoges and not the east but it's a really lovely campsite owned by a young Dutch Family.

It is also quite close to Oradour-sur-Glane which is a very thought provoking memorial.
