On our 4900 when we needed to reduce the effects of Spanish sunshine I slid a Lilypad Leisure Windblocker into the front groove (where the front panel of the residence room normally goes) as a quick and easy solution. The 6300 has a groove in the same position.

On the 6300 canopy (and presumably the 6200) you can thread a sun shade into the same groove that is used for the residence room front. If you want to use to use the shade with the residence room in place then you will need three more strips of the black plastic figure of eight connectors (the same as those used to connect the front and sides of the residence room together). The residence front room comes with the necessary beading attached. P7060147.JPG - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

Searching the forums to find opinions and came upon this thread. We've been thwarted twice now in buying an air awning (been trying since February!) and so we're wondering if it's not meant to be and maybe we should consider getting the Omnistor fitted (which we had pegged as something we'd get later on when it was just the two of us camping). We want to be able to properly 'tour', stopping no more than 2 nights in each place, getting down into Europe ideally. How easy is this sort of setup to use on the road? We want it to be as easy as possible (otherwise it's not a 'restful break'!) even for just sneaking in a Friday/Saturday away somewhere.

We have a new Troll 530, would the 6300 + G3 residence room be a good combination?
Thanks!

Diana

For a two night stay the pull-out canopy (6300), possibly with a single 'smart' side (and sun-shade if needed) is quick to put up and down. Good idea to add storm straps. The set-up above is our summer 'touring in France rig although the picture was take near Devizes! The G3 residence room is great for a longer, chillier, stay but does take time to set up and put together (plus pegging out). It's advantage is that it's made up of separate pieces so it's not as heavy as lifting a whole awning at once. The poles of the residence room are surprisingly heavy when all together in their bag. Also the 6300 is a 'sun canopy' and as such is not designed for really windy weather, even with storm straps. That's when we use our old porch awning and stay inside!
