Ours is a newly purchased 2005 Triton and we are thinking of buying a Shadow to use in warmer climes. Can someone advise us as regards optimum length and whether or not the door would present any problems?
Thanks
Bob

Bobb,
we use a 3m Shadow on our Triton 430. Technically it is about 50mm too long but works fine.
If you have the end poles high and pull a guy line through the front centre edge of the canopy then the caravan door will lightly rub the underside of the canopy, but the majority of any rain falling on the canopy should run off without pooling. This seems a good compromise.
You could also consider a 2.8 m Fiamma Caravanstore, but the bag fouling the door is more of an issue. If practical you can get a permanent fix to this problem by fixing a length of awning track 100 mm above the existing gutter/awning track.

Having now bought the Shadow and done an experimental set up, there is one very annoying problem.
Our awning rail has been well siliconed and is lovely and slippery when we set up our Kampa Pop Air but pain when setting up the Shadow in that pegging and tensioning the the first side drags the awning out of place very easily.
What we need is a temporary stopper of some sort clipped to the awning track ...
Off to France soon so any ideas appreciated.
Thanks
Bob
PS Our newly acquired 2006 420 flew through its (Approved Workshop) service with just a number plate bulb required - amazing....

Isabella make a side panel and it is expensive. Page 50 of 2020 Brochure lists a part number https://issuu.com/isabellacamping/docs/i...sNjhhZjE4MjQ5MQ

We made our own.

We decided that it should be a seperate from the main roof fabric so we have used the same type of telescopic line prop that we've used elsewhere, as a cross pole ;-

https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-extend...-prop/p/1289640

We fitted a large cup hook to one end to fit into the awning rail eyelet https://www.hobby-fendt-caravan-spares.c...m-vertical-hole

The other end hooks on the Isabella corner pole.

The fabric is outdoor waterproof canvas used for patio furniture and is velcro looped over the cross pole.

Wow, how can they charge more for for an end panel than the entire awning in the first place, what a rip off. I think i'l need to fabricate my own

Kampa stop ends working a treat (see previous post) but have also added a third pole.
This is an original Isabella telescopic pole exactly the same as the other 2 but with an awning hook at the top end to go through the smaller hole of the orange flap.
I bought this from an eBay seller called ‘Honest-as-the-day-Dave’ in Hinckley.

He took a great interest in the project and he made it up to suit. Perfect match. Brilliant, fast service and it cost £30 including postage.

That third pole sounds good. Do you have an email address for “Dave”?
