Old fridge not safe

Hi picked up my new (old) Pan yesterday.
Instantly got to work. Stripped out electrics. They were not safe!!! Now to the fridge...seemed to start cooking okay on electric 240 but not sure about 12 v yet. Has worked but......was not happy with the way the fumes were being vented. Removed fridge and had a good look. A flexi link pipe for fumes was crumbling bad. And the 240v fan installed on front vent gave me a nasty electric shock. All now removed. Now....do I tidy and to the best of my ability service this or just get another. But so expensive.
Any suggestions service or replace?

Thankyou

With the issues you mention, the visual state of the fridge and the hard work already done in removal I would try and source a good 2nd hand unit to go back.
With a bit of internet searching and possibly hearing from that nice forum member and fountain of knowledge JohnE, you may be able to come up with a list of compatible model codes.
Caravan breakers and e-bay would then be your primary sources.

Thanks Colin
Was thinking about a camping style version like this.
Or do I try to keep it original...ish

We have both. Although our Eriba fridge works fine we also use a camping fridge outside.
Perhaps you could use the extra inside space as a cupboard while you own the van and re-address the fridge as a fixture when you come to sell the van?

Ed if you can live without the originality, I could, then I'd think about option 2, cap off any fittings and fit a door or curtain across the gap left.
We used a similar 3 way when we had a trailer tent. It was far more efficient than the built in Eriba unit and offered greater flexibility. If your car is big enough for it to fit and you can keep it under cover when camping then it is a very good option. Our Waeco badged unit was 60L capacity with the same footprint as the standard? 40/45L unit. You could probably pick a good 2nd hand one for £100/120 on the likes of Gumtree, far cheaper than e-bay.

Hello Ed

I may be able to help you out with a refurbished and fully tested replacement fridge.

If you let me have the model number of your old fridge - RMxxx - I'll be able to confirm compatibility with mine.

Thankyou Colin

I've been looking into this option and I think this is the way in going to go.
