What has been said is generally correct but you should still check the actual dates given in each individual site listing.

For example camping 'Les Criques de Porteils' at Argelès-sur-Mer, a fantastic site, list their low season as: 23/3-5/5; 12/5-9/6; 22/6-5/7; 1/9-8/9 and 15/9-26/10.

We and I suspect quite a few others on here have been caught out by assuming that all dates except July and August were 'Low Season' at this site.

Yes and Germany especially, is prone to scatter their "off peak" days and weeks because of the myriad of Saint's days, both local and national. As the young German we camped alongside earlier this year described these Saint's days :- "Happy Cadaver" Days.
