What is this? And also have I got a jacking point insert?

Dear all,

Help needed, we are perplexed as to what this is:

Anyone know? - Sorry if it's really obvious lol. There are two, on the door side of the van at the bottom.

Also I've found in the general 'box of bits' that came with Esther the Puck, this:

And the only logical use I can think of is that it is a chassis insert for the little empty bit here:

It fits well and looks like a jacking adapter...

Comments welcome on this, as I can't see any other use. Perhaps it was made up by a previous owner?

Thanks everyone :-)

Edit: Sorry my pictures are going sideways when enlarged - even though it's an iPhone and MacBook which are not supposed to?

The two plastic thingies low down on the door side could be for the feet on the legs of a Caravanstore type sunshade. Instead of dropping the legs onto the ground they can brace against the side of the van.

The plate is something I have never seen, but your thoughts on it being a jacking plate [for emergency use only] seem a good one.

Never thought of that possibility, but I love the idea! A little instant sunshade for when you're forced to wild-camp. Brilliant!
